Description

Bone Glue, Pearls is a natural animal-based adhesive made from bovine bones. It is used wherever a strong yet reversible bond is required.

Suitable applications:

• Manufacture and repair of violins and other stringed instruments – for gluing the body, neck, and internal components. These adhesives are widely used by luthiers because the joints can be safely disassembled with heat and moisture when repairs are needed.
• Wooden surfaces – for furniture restoration, woodworking, veneering, marquetry, and bonding other wooden components.

Directions for use:

1. Soak the granules in cold water for approximately 30–60 minutes.
2. Heat the swollen glue in a water bath to approximately 60–65 °C (140–149 °F) until completely dissolved.
3. Apply the glue while it is warm, as it gels and sets quickly upon cooling.

Advantages

Not suitable for

• Outdoor applications.
